First of all, I am a mom, and I do have a job, so I don’t have all day to read. This means that I will be picky when accepting book reviews.
What genres of books do you accept?
The genres I accept include:
- Romance (including romcoms and historical romance)
- Historical Fiction
- Horror
- Thriller/Mystery
- Contemporary
- Literary
- Classics
I read a wide range of books, from picture books to Middle-Grade books, Young Adult books, and Adult books. I have two kids under 10, and we love to read all sorts of books geared toward kids of all ages.
While there’s not necessarily any genre I would not review, I do like to stick to the genres listed above.
What can you expect from me when you submit a book for review?
When you submit a book for review, you can expect a standard book review. However, if I dislike the book, I retain the right to decline the review. I would prefer to not write a review at all versus writing a negative review.
If I loved the book, I would be open to author interviews and guest posts, and the book could be included in a future book list. If you submitted a children’s book for review, I might also include my children’s thoughts on the book.
I will share reviews here on the blog and on Goodreads. I could also share a link to the review on Instagram, as well as pin it to Pinterest. I do not share reviews on Amazon.
While I do use star ratings on Goodreads, I do not include them on the blog.

All book review requests can be sent to me at hyggedreamer (at) gmail (dot) com.
Please include the book’s title, cover image (if available), a short synopsis of the book, when you would like the book to be read and reviewed by, and any other pertinent information.
Please note, I will only respond to reviews I am accepting.
What formats do you accept for review?
As much as I prefer physical copies of books, I realize this is not always possible. Also, my house is starting to look like a library so ePub books are also acceptable.
I don’t write books, but I would love to be considered to write a guest post. Is that possible?
Yes! I would love a guest post on my blog, whether it is a discussion post or a book review or list. So long as it is book related, I would be interested. Please email queries to me at hyggedreamer (at) gmail (dot) com.
